Welcome dear traveller and thank you for stopping by....
Why not stay a while and Join us as we take you back in time to share the dark Ghostly secrets and gruesome tales of the Ancient Evesham Riverside Town.
The area Evesham is in now was once part of the great forest of Feckenham and apart from a few dwellings, isolated churches and the river Avon, there was very little else. In the 8th Century the Virgin Mary appeared to a swineherd named Eoff who reported the miracle to the Bishop of Worcester, and a magnificent Abbey was built in her honour.
On 4th August 1265, one of the most bloody battles in England’s history took place in Evesham between the forces of Prince Edward (later Edward I) and Simon de Montfort (Earl of Leicester), following months of bitter wrangling over the control of the king, the enforcement of the Magna Carta and the barons rights under law. Simon’s forces were outnumbered and thoroughly routed with Simon himself taking the brunt of a most vicious attack and dying on the field. Eye witness accounts called it “the murder at Evesham, for battle it was none”.
This mystical and bloody history has resulted in a plethora of ghosts, not only on the site of the Abbey, but also throughout the town - which for added ghoulish measure, was built on two inter-secting ley-lines.
Keep your wits about you dear friend as you encounter on our walk the ruins of the once magnificent Abbey and feel the fear as our Guide shares with you his terrifying Ghostly tales of wandering Monks and Headless Horsemen!
Finally, we end at old Evesham Gaol where MEDIUMS IAN LAWMAN and MICHAEL will try to connect with the poor spirits who dwell there with EXCLUSIVE ACCESS into this NEVER BEFORE INVESTIGATED location - the site of the Old White Hart Pub and Evesham Gaol! This basement area is haunted by a Fagin character and several Victorian children and ghosts of the tortured souls of the Gaol.
We will hold a small vigil in this area, before we continue with the Ghost Walk around the site of the Abbey, Lichfield Tower and the Chapter House.
All this for the fantastic price of £10 !
This is a great fun tour twinned with many fascinating historical tales and facts.
